Nguy Thi Khanh is Founder and Executive Director of Green Innovation and Development Centre (GreenID) in Vietnam, which promotes sustainable energy development, good water and air governance, and green development. In 2018, she became the first Vietnamese recipient of the Goldman Environmental Prize. In March 2019, she was listed as the World’s 100 Most Influential People in Climate Policy 2019 by Apolitical. In April 2019, she was awarded the Eisenhower Fellowship for 2019. In December 2019. she was cited by as one of six Vietnamese who make the world a better place. Khanh is Chair of Vietnam Sustainable Energy Alliance, and was elected Chair of the Board of Climate Action Network Southeast Asia (CANSEA) in 2020. She has more than 20 years of experience in integrated community development, network building and advocacy for better sustainable energy development in Vietnam and the Mekong region. Under her leadership, GreenID has supported more than 20,000 people in different communities to have access to clean energy and safe water. She engages with decision makers and does multistakeholder networking to advocate for energy transition towards less dependence on fossil fuel and coal power. Khanh initiated the first Renewable Energy Week in Vietnam in 2016.
